Just keep sewing, sewing, sewing

So I’m actually doing quite well so far concerning both my read more and craft more resolutions (so far at least). Yesterday I finished another cell phone case for my sister, a bit of a travel theme this time in terms of fabric. Then today I spend most day on a project of my own. After realising last week that my apron was quite dirty from all the cooking (cooking is not a neat and tidy process for me) and is now patiently waiting to be washed, I decided it was a good idea to own a second one and thats what I did today. For this project I used some more of my fabric that I bought in New Zealand a couple years ago and I still adore this orca patterned bit of fabric. It wasn’t quite big enough so I had to do a bit of a frame around it and sewing it all together, plus adding the bands to knot the apron took q bit longer than I expected. It was a lot of fun though and I am super pleased with the result.

In other news I’ve got some exciting short trips coming up. At the end of this week I’m going to visit a friend whom I haven’t seen since December 2012 (we both were shocked when we noticed that its been 3 years, where does the time go???). A week late I’m going to visit my sisters for a few days before going on a three day trip to London with one of them. I can’t wait for all of this to happen and have a feeling that January will be over before I know it 😀
