This month I received some really cool postcrossing cards. They are from all over: England, USA, Germany, Finland, China and Russia. I was really happy to see this beautiful Beatrix Potter postcard. The New York card is really cool as well. There was also nice variation of stamps among these cards and once again the card from Finland didn’t have a cancellation. This seems to happen a lot with cards from Finland…
For me Eastern isn’t a holiday I tend to celebrate but I do love all the Easter Candy and Decorations and it somehow symbolizes Spring as well. So I decided to send a couple of Easter surprise packages to two of my penpals. They might not look very eastery but they are full of yummy goodness 🙂
This little letter went out to the UK at the beginning of the month so it should already have found its way to the right mailbox. I also bought new stamps which I am super excited to use on my snailmail now.
Of course I send for postcrossing cards as well. These cards were send to the US, Germany, Czechia and Lithuania. Most of them already arrived so i have to send a few more cards soon. I only have to cards travelling at the moment.
The following cards I bought on my trip to Hamburg and send to my penpals using my new stamps. I absolutely love these ‘Bremer Stadtmusikanten’ stamps, they are special stamps where you pay a bit more and the extra gets donated. The German post has quite a few of these extra stamps (for sports, youth and social services).
Every year I think I should try to take part in the Month of Letters and every year I fail at the first day. Maybe I’ll try it next year and kind of make a list and be more organised about it. But I did send a few letters as well as a bunch of postcrossing cards last month.
Here are the letters, there were three actually but I forgot to take a photo of the last one. I know the one on the left already arrived and the other one should reach its new home soon.
One evening I also went on to postcrossing and couldn’t stop getting new addresses. In total I send seven cards. After that I was pretty much out of stamps and had to order some new ones that will soon be featured in some snailmail. The cards went to France, Finland, Netherland, Portugal, Estonia, Ukraine and Russia.
The last few weeks have been fantastic mail weeks. I received a lot of postcrossing cards, though now I am once again at a point where I have received more than I send. That should even out soon though as there are still several cards travelling to their new homes. These cards arrived from France, Malaysia, Russia, Slovenia and the US. I particularly like the whale (of course) and the ‘I ❤ my planet’ card from France. This card is really cool as it comes from a company that donates 5% of the sales from the cards to environmental educational programmes.
All these cards had really nice stamps on the back as well. As always I find the selection of different stamps fascinating.
My mailbox was also filled with three letters from my lovely penpals. They arrived from Great Britain, America and Germany.
Lastly I received a sticker order from Australia that made me happy before I even opened it. Just look at all these pretty flower stamps!!! I just love it when someone uses stamps even for higher postages instead of getting the maschine printed ones.
I am slowly getting over my snail mail slump. All the letters that have been lying around for a while have been answered now and are on the way to my penpals. And for two of them I already have received a reply so I can just keep writing.
Lets start with my outgoing letters, one went of to the USA and the other one is on its way to Indonesia. I also send of 5 more postcrossing cards but got them to the mailbox before taking a photo, my scatterbrain doing its best again 😀
On the incoming front I’ve got a two gorgeous letters. One coming from Keely in America and the other one from Emma in Ireland. The way Keely wrote my name is so pretty. And look at all the stamps. I love both this beautiful storefront stamp from Ireland as well as the Love cloud and Penguins from the US. I also got a postcrossing card from Germany. Sadly as I hate Onions this is not one of my favourites.
This week I was finally able to reply and send some of the letters that I had for far to long. Two of these are normal replies and the third is a birthday present. I just loved this big bookish envelope to not reuse it and I think it looks definitely a lot more interesting than just the plain old white one that it covers. Hopefully all of these will reach their destination soon. I have to more letters to reply to and I hope to do so over the weekend.
