Monthly Favourites: March

  • Currently I am still reading the third book of this trilogy but I really enjoyed the second one. This is one of those surprising cases where I thought the second book was better than the first and it really got me hooked and wanting to continue until the end with the series. The concept is really great as it plays in a world where books can give some people specific powers and of course there is all kinds of stuff going wrong. I am not sure if they have been translated into English yet.

  • This month I listened to a lot of Ed Sheeran, especially the new CD Divide. My sister was great and got tickets for the concert in Cologne and it was fantastic so the music is constantly playing 🙂

  • There is really just one movie that could be my favourite this month and of course it is the Life action Beauty and the Beast. I love it, so much. I think it is very well done, the cast is fantastic and I like all the little changes that they made.

February Happy Mail Incoming

The last few weeks have been fantastic mail weeks. I received a lot of postcrossing cards, though now I am once again at a point where I have received more than I send. That should even out soon though as there are still several cards travelling to their new homes. These cards arrived from France, Malaysia, Russia, Slovenia and the US. I particularly like the whale (of course) and the ‘I ❤ my planet’ card from France. This card is really cool as it comes from a company that donates 5% of the sales from the cards to environmental educational programmes.

All these cards had really nice stamps on the back as well. As always I  find the selection of different stamps fascinating.

My mailbox was also filled with three letters from my lovely penpals. They arrived from Great Britain, America and Germany.

Lastly I received a sticker order from Australia that made me happy before I even opened it. Just look at all these pretty flower stamps!!! I just love it when someone uses stamps even for higher postages instead of getting the maschine printed ones.

Some last letters from Iceland

My to-reply pile is officially non-existent. I have replied to my last letters and the map envelope is already on its way to leave Iceland. The lionfish will be following soon, they will be dropped of tomorrow. I managed to use my last stamps and I really like how the envelope ended up looking even if there is a bit too much postage on it. Both of these envelopes are on the way to Europe, just like I will be in less than a week. The next mail related post will probably be written when I’m back in Germany in the middle of November. I can’t wait to see all of the mail that is waiting for me there (not that I am that popular, I just did a lot of online shopping…) 😀

2016 is here

Hey everyone,

sorry for being so quiet the last few weeks of 2015, it was super busy. I hope you all had amazing Christmas and New Years days and as much fun as I had. This was the first time in the last 3 years that my sisters and I were all home over the holidays so not much got actually done but it was so much fun instead.

Do you have any New Years Resolutions? I don’t have anything good, except that I want to read more and be more creative. Otherwise I decided to just let life happen and see what it brings me.

I haven’t done a lot of letter writing but plan to do so in the next few days after I’ve figured out the new postal rates. Our german post increased some of the prices but not all of them so that makes it a bit tricky. On the other hand that means lots of pretty new stamps to use :).

I’m not going to leave you without any photos though. My sister got a new cell phone for Christmas and asked me to make her a cell phone bag and one of the designs she wanted I finished before she left, so here it is. She said this one was for when she goes to concerts, the other one will be for travelling but that still needs to be done. IMG_3016

Mail is still happening

So for some reason I have been super busy these last two weeks, feeling like I only have to blink and a whole week is passing by. I mean really how can Christmas be only eleven days away????

But when I did have time I managed to get a little bit of letter writing done, okay mostly Christmas card writing but I did manage to reply two of my incoming letters while two others are still waiting to be answered. Hopefully I can find some time on my next day off…..

Anyway here are some pictures of incoming letters and postcards and the pile of outgoing Christmas cards that will be send tomorrow (most likely some of them won’t get to their end locations in time but oh well).

A couple of days ago I also walked past Tchibo and found something that made me stop a second and then decide that it was just too good a deal to pass by (even if I already have christmas deco tapes that I can only use ones a year). But 7 Euros for 12 tapes was just too good and I told myself that half  of them are actually not that christmassy and I’ll be able to use them at other times too 🙂

Some may call it chaos…

… but I’m going to go with creativity!!!

Now that is is officially December it is kind of time to get all those Christmas cards ready since some of them have to be send out quite early. Since I’m kind of trying not to spend to much money this year, I decided to make cards myself using all this Christmas Washi tape I have. Today I finally got around to finishing the last ones and am quite pleased with the result. They might not be as pretty as a lot of the bought ones but they are colourful :D. To be able to really go with the whole theme, I also got lots of the Christmas themed stamps today. Sadly our post doesn’t issue any with the right postage for international letters which means I have to add extras that don’t have a Christmas theme but I guess that’s just something I have to accept…
